PERISHED FUEL PIPE

Post by EDD »

I noticed a few drip's under the car, gradually getting worse over a couple of days.Turned out to be the fuel return pipe, from the pump to bulkhead, it only leaked after initial start up (observation). Check the "U" section just behind the engine. Replaced with a 1 meter length of 8mm bore tubing from Halfirds with clips for under a fiver.

Yes! flexible hoses don't last for ever. A couple of years ago my daughter's 205D started loosing diesel through the hoses coming and going to the tank. In the garage I found a piece of caravanning gas tubing that fitted a treat. It lasted five months before it disintegrated. Obviously flexible gas tubing and diesel don't mix.
