Went to have a look at a Xantia estate today with a view to purchase. It's in good nick, 80k miles FSH and currently on ebay at £1045 which is really at the upper end of what I'd want to pay. It has a years MOT but with advisories so will need 4 new tyres and a new back box before long. Also aircon doesn't function so will at least need a regas.

Anyway back to the question at hand, I noticed when testing the suspension that the pressure regulator ticked about every 2 seconds when on the high setting only, was fine on normal setting. Could this be the pump going home?

sounds very expensive to me i wouldnt exspect to pay more than £500 as for the air con you will be very lucky if it needs re gassing mine went on my estate, mine needed a £180 pipe and an £130 condensor ( the rad at the front ) yours probably will need a condensor at least then re gassing which is about £45 good luck mate

The regulator does click in much quicker when on high, not sure about 2 seconds though, have you compared it with your V6?

What was the tick rates on low and normal Stempy? Also, pull the HA fuse (F8) to check to see if the tick rate is the same when hard mode is forced.

If the tick rate is considerably longer in hard mode, the electrovalves are leaky.

The V6 is about every 20 seconds on high.

I do think it's a bit over priced, it started at £850 but has started to get silly, especially as it's gonna need a bit of money spent. I'm after an auto estate and this one is only just down the road though. Have a look.

I don't think the bloke would take kindly to me pulling fuses. Anyway, I've almost convinced myself to give it a wide berth for now.

That Xantia is an SX so won't have Hydractive.
