307 2.0Hdi - Oil Filter - Halfords don't list it??

Post by sooty »

Wanting to change the Oil filter on my wifes 307 2.0 Hdi.

Halfords don't list a Oil filter for the model.

I've read somewhere that the filter is the same as the 1.9TD Citroen/Peugeot.

Right/Wrong. ?? Or do you know which of the Halfords filters is the correct fitment.

Thanks

HDi's normally use a different oil filter from 1.9 TD's due to the longer service intervals, I've no idea what filter Halfords recommend, try a dealer you'll be amazed how cheap such parts are from dealer and quite possibly cheaper than Halfrauds.

I agree, try the dealer, they are cheap.

I went into halfords for some oil for a C4 HDi, they didnt have a book to tell me which oil it needed so i asked at the desk - i wanted total oil but wasnt quite sure of the spec.

The lady at the desk told me it wasnt listed on the system, but she thought as it was a HDi, it ment it was a basic spec (!!!) and basic oil would do. Ive no idea how she came to that conclusion, as i started to inform her that HDi didnt relate to spec she began telling me how she drives a CDI which is a higher spec than a HDi. :? So yes, really best avoid halfords for anything other than cleaning stuff. I wouldnt bother asking, they will probably have no clue at all what your wanting.

So after that i wento across the road to Citroen (why didnt i go there first) and they got me the right oil for £21 (£6 cheaper than halfords normal total) and the correct filter for a few pounds. I usually always use the dealer for service items now. Nice that the dealer gives me a good discount too.

thanks,

Reason I use Halfords, I've got a trade card which makes it cheaper still than a dealer for any serviceable items Oils, Filters and etc.

The filter for the 307 2.0 HDi fits lots of other vehicles so I guess they would have had one but maybe just not listed for the 307.

Best to look it up & get a part number for it then they can cross reference the filter on their system / fitment book.

Look the filter up here

Yep, it will be the same filter for all 2.0HDis, so 206, 406, Xantia, C5, etc

Thanks both,

From the Fram Filter link although it don't list the Citroen ZX which is a 1.9/1.9TD, there is a 1.9 listed along with a host of others 1.6/2.0Hdi's(PH9599).

So from this I assume that the filter for a IE: ZX/306 1.9/1.9TD is the same for the 306/C4 etc 1.6/2.0HDi.

Hi,
Don't know what you're doing wrong but I can find the ZX 1.9TD no problem....the filter is PH5566A (the 1.9D uses the same filter)

Using the link in my post above....

On the first page find Citroen in the "Brand" drop down...

Then in the "Model" drop down scroll to ZX 1.9 TD...

On the next page where the oil filter is listed click on PH5566A...

On the next page under "Brand" there is a list that you can scroll down...click on any of the makes in this list, this will show the models that the PH5566A filter will fit.

As far as I can see the filter for the 307 2.0 HDi is the PH9599

Cheers.
