CD Changer for 406, advice

Post by a4gom »

Hi just picked up a 406 estate which has a Phillips factory fit radio cassette, looking in the handbook it appears this is a Phillips 4035 and that it will control a cd changer.
I'd like to get hold of a cd changer for it so I'm looking for advice on
-where they are usually fit as standard
-the make / model no of the cd cahnger or changers which will fit
-the cable, is it in as standard or will I need to fit one.

Obviously if has one spare i'd be interested!

Many thanks
Andy

I'm going from memory here:

Sometimes the lead is there sometimes it is not. Din type plug on the end.

The location is typically in the boot area on an estate (the left or right hand side "panels", have a look)

I have seen one in the glovebox although I do not think that was factory fit...

Not ideal information, hope its a bit of help though. :)
Andy.
