C15 heater fan problems.

Post by gnome »

Hi all, I've just discovered the delights of the C15 Champ ( its like owning one of those scruffy small lovable terriers). But the heater fan is a bit militant, sometimes it works sometimes it won't. I've read that this is a common fault on other Citroen's, is it the same cure for the C15.

hi gnome and welcome

the heater fan on the C15 is up under the dash on the drivers side on UK RHD van's, very easy to remove,

its held in place by three 10mm nuts, and the usual fault is sticking carbon brush's, sometimes just a sharp thump can get it started, i would drop it down and see if you can get the brush's out and clean them and there carriers, as if left they might burn the comutator out, then you will need a replacement unit,

Had this on ours too, it worked by giving it a good thump but we replaced it with a new unit. Not too expensive at the time, though not sure how much it would be now.
