Great little cars are 205s and the last ones are the best.

I hope someone takes it off your hands as it would be a shame to scrap it.

Hi..

So what sort of brass are you looking for - also, were in Mid wales are you?

I can come and have a look end of the month, as Im due in South Wales to collect some bits n pieces..

I disagree the last are the best, I do prefer the "First" cars, 1987/88 eira, and I also prefer 5 door, but in the cars favour is 1997 P reg, GTi body with no sunroof..

After an over production of GTi 3dr body shells, Peugeot decided the sell off the bodys by putting the famous XUD lumps in.. and speccing them up with PAS.. This does interest me as long as the brass is not stupid!

Could be any one of these Paul..
Admiralty brass
Aich's alloy
Alpha brass
Alpha-beta brass
Aluminium brass
Arsenical brass
Beta brasse
Cartridge brass
Common brass
DZR brass
Gilding metal
High brass
Leaded brass
Lead-free brass
Low brass
Manganese brass
Muntz metal
Naval brass
Nordic gold
Rich low brass
Tonval brass
White brass
Yellow brass
Quite a choice!

Funny how we can have polar opposite opinions on some things Paul

Remember the early 205 bodyshells were not galvanised whereas the later ones were...

Me personally would go for a late one every time. Drop a 1.9TD in there and anve a 205 that is faster than a GTi

Early ones had a fantastic rust record.. but i still prefer them, S2 dash's are a bit too plasticly..

HAHA jim, not that sort of brass! Money brass!!

the 205 didn't need the td lump, the N/a 1.8 was good enough...

Having owned an early and late 205, and dad having early and very late (M reg that I once reversed my Vauxhall mushroom into - oops!), I have to say the early one seemed to have more ooomph.
I'm sure Jim mentioned this was because they changed the gearing in later models.
Really great cars though, the last of the Peugeots worth having.
I do have a spare 1.9TD as well....

So do I, two runners, and one split, just needs putting back together, was a runner when I split it, but had low compression on one of the cylinders..

Not had an ounch of time to see which it was or what was causing it IE: valve slightly open, or piston etc..

I've always thought the best ones were around 92-93

The ones made before they were reduced to just the Mardi Gras models as the build quality on the MG's seemed to be not quite as good with the slightly earlier ones from what I have seen. I'll have to assume these were made on a different line (different plant) , you can sort of "feel" the difference.

Most of the later ones have P/S as standard (exceptions being the 1.1)

MG's have P/S , C/L and E/W typically, although they only seemed to be available in a dark green (Sorento Green maybe?) , Miami Blue , Red or sometimes white, but some of the slightly earlier ones (92 / 92 before the MG model) had these features anyway.

Just my thoughts anyway. :)
Andy.

91 205D-Turbo, gone but still missed
02 106D, TUD5B, gone but not really missed apart from the MPG
