Pug 306. 1997. 1.6. No fuel pump supply to start it.

Post by JohnT »

No fuel getting to injection rail. Andy told me to listen for the pump at rear of vehicle. I can not hear it running. What is the the next thing to do please? I have checked all the fuses under the steering wheel compartment and check all push connections under the bonnet.
If I pour a little fuel into the induction pipe it runs OK for a second.
Where are the fuses and relays for the pump please?
Thanks for any replies.
Cheers!

Yes typically you will hear a faint buzz for a couple of seconds at most while the fuel pump is primed (well, the fuel pipes and rail really)

I'd suggest the fuel pump relay then (I think its a double relay on these) , I am not sure of its location to be honest.

If your ECU is in the engine bay, it may actually be underneath that or next to it. Have a close look around the ECU area for a large (typically) relay.
Andy.
