405 estate reversing lights not working...

Just got a producer from a bored policeman for no reversing lights!!!

I notice that the number plate lights alo dont come on, havnt checked the fogs.

Before I start tracing this I suspect there is a connector come apart somewhere and wandered if anyone has had a similar problem?

I'd be looking at the electrical connectors to each lamp unit mounted on the tailgate - I suffered a similar issue (I think I lost reverse and fog lights) and traced it to dirty/burnt out connectors. A good dousing in electrical contact cleaner sorted it for me.

That was where I was headed - hopefully it should sort things out!

Also check that there are no wires broken where they pass between the car and the tailgate. They pass through the rubber bellows affair, and can break off unseen inside this due to the opening and closing of the tailgate.
