Hi folks,

Sorry to be a bearer of sad news.

I heard a week ago that Laurie passed away early in January this year.

He had been ill for just over a year.

Regards
Brian

:( That is sad, bad news, I wasn't aware he was ill. I often enjoyed his interjections.

RIP Lol.

Thanks for informing us Brian.

This is very sad new indeed.
He was a nice man and a loyal supporter of the forum.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad. Seemed like a nice chap, living the good life in France if I remember correctly.

RIP Laurie.

I'd realised he was an older bloke; shame his time ran out. A good-natured member, too.

Sad news that I had feared for some time, from a post he made about memory loss caused by radio- or chemotherapy.

Rest in peace, Lol, heaven is made of Citroëns. :)

Seeing a revived thread elsewhere with one of Lol's posts, made me wonder about using the space below a screen-name (where admin/moderators have their description thus) to show the person's years of life; eg: 1944-2008

This could have two benefits; firstly it might stop people responding directly to a deceased poster, and secondly it sort of memorialises their presence.

Its easy to do and a good idea.
We could put Died 2010 or RIP 2010 if we don't know the year of birth.
