Tailgate window lift

Can anyone advise me how to open the tailgate window on my C5 estate. I know exactly what's causing the problem with the microswitch to open it but it just needs opening manually somehow!

If you pop the clips from the tailgate trim off at the edge nearest the glass you can pull the trim back enough to see the solenoid that operates the catch, you then just push it either up or down (cant remember which way opens it) & the tailgate glass will pop open.
