its a mystery part 2
I posted a thread recently about a strange rattling spannery noise coming from what seemed like under the drivers seat....didnt get many replies well one stating the obvious heat shield exhuast etc etc...that was all checked before I posted the thread...so i tracked it down to the n/r side track rod end..at the weekend replaced track rod end..and yeah it did reduce the noise but it is still there and sometimes coming from the rear...so I tightened up the spare wheel mounting as this often gives a rumble and rattle....reduced it even more but the spannery sound is still there...I have put off taking it to a garage to get this checked out but after doing all I can to get rid of this noise I have booked it in 2morrow for her to be looked at....I bet its a engine mount a bush or something...but I cant find it...will post a thread and let you know the outcome...believe me this IS a MYSTERY

Hi Blackdog....One strange noise i found on mine was the rear brake dust cover which had rusted through and was vibrating on the trailing arm
Is it a rotational noise or a kind of knocking noise?
Get them to check the drop links as they are common noise points...
I had what sounded like a worn drop link noise over bumps a while back...but after a few weeks and everything checking out ok at a garage it stopped....? Perhaps something fell off
Good luck and let us know if you find out what it is....teaches us all something new
