c5 wouldnt rev past 4k now ....

Post by mrlogik »

Hi all the c5 2.0 hdi wouldnt really rev past 4k and felt a little flat for a 110hp[more like a 90],yesterday it goes super flat and wont rev past 3k and has no power. No light on on dash checked and replaced fuel filter and the air filters only done 1000m. Spoke to my mate at garage whos taking it in tommorow and he feels she may be coked up in the exhaust, any thoughts or common faults were missing here?

Sounds like it could be an an intake airflow sensor issue.
They are known to pask up on HDI's.

Its the rather large tubular plumbing on the air duct - with an electric connector.

Turns out the electrical connection on the afm wasnt engaging properly its now zip tied on there and has all its power returned.

:( Hi all, my 2.2HDi is very reluctant to go past 3500 rpm although seems to be ok up to 3000 rpm, tricky when towing my caravan losing power when you most need it. could this also be a problem with the maf ?
