My latest acquisition

Post by Toby_HDi »

Went to look at this yesterday as it popped up on ebay while I was looking for something as the Alfa's front suspension is shot. Checked it over and decided to buy it. Grabbed these pictures after I got it home, more to follow at a later date

Yep, a 1998 Mk. 2 Activa :D 8) Has the early Mk.1 dash with the blocks though which seemed strange at first as my HDi had the outlines

Very clean and, other than a few blemishes on the bodywork, seems to check out lovely.

Brilliant - another one in the hands of an enthusiast!

Where was this one lurking then - it's not the LPG s2 one on ebay and I'd
recall seeing a green one! More details please!! 8)

Nope this one was in Southampton, it popped up literally while I was searching the bay. I went over to look at it and after a bit of a discussion it emerged he hadn't a clue what it was. He thought it was just a normal Xantia.

It's done 102k, came with MOT til August and tax til September. 8)

The LPG was a blue one IIRC

That would explain it Paul. My HDi was a 2000 on an X

I nearly bit his arm off when he said what he wanted for it though, even then managed to knock him down a bit - a well kept secret they are indeed

What am I missing about the dash here!?
Surely it will be a s2 if there's a digital mileometer? :?: :?

How on earth did I miss an Activa on ebay!? Let me guess, he listed it with
the dumbest description ever, like it's a green one and it's got a spoiler and
my mates reckon it's not a diesel?

Andrew, I'm referring to the lamps on the dash. On later cars instead of the lamps lighting up in a coloured square, they lit up the outline of the symbols.

It was actually one of the better descriptions on Ebay. Thing is though, I've noticed if you type in 'Activa' it doesn't pick it up. Type in 'Turboactiva' and they seem to show. As I say this one appeared before my eyes and I asked how much he wanted and I arranged to see it the very next morning (it was just before midnight at this point)

It's got shoddy wheels with wheel trims....

Saw that one and wasn't too impressed.

I'll have to look more closely at my warning lights!!

That lpg car looks a bit tired to be honest - more so than others
I've seen including that red one at Arran Motors or the Savoy
silver one! Certainly the wheels don't do it any favours.

It is! I think its actually much cleaner than my HDi. A few blemishes and niggles but I'm going to sort these out. Hopefully work some Gareth magic on it but all in due course

You saw it then

Yes I noticed that too and thought, whatever you say

'Round town, more like 35 gallons to the mile  I can get 35 out of mine easily on a run Mike...

Driving gently though...

 Nothing like a bit of sales patter and this is nothing like a bit of reality!
Mind, I'm getting figures close to this on my latest acquisition when I was
lucky to get in the 20's on the other one!!
