Unread post by Xaccers »

the left hand lower quarter of Juliet's radio is unlit.
Is it possible to open it up and replace the bulbs?

I think they are LEDs which are soldered onto the board along with the microswitch type things for the buttons.. i wouldn't reckon on removing the plating and plastic surround getting to both the front and rear of the board would be easy. may be better to find another working radio or a damaged one from a scrap car and play with that first :)

They all eventually seem to fail in the same area and it slowly moves along the rest of the lower buttons :(

Yup :D

1st rule of repair: Whack it.
2nd rule if that doesn't fix it: Whack it harder :D

If the Clarion is anything like the Blaupunkt, it's a nighmare to get into. They rere never designed to have any kond of repair carried out on them
