Second hand they are like rocking horse doo doo's, they are still available new from dealers but the cost is approaching £400.

When the inevitable happens to mine, i'll get new ram. Its far more cost effective than buying another car which may need more work and cost the same as a new ram and then some. And of course, no modern 5 door hatchback comes close to the Activa experience.

haha yeah true. Having just finished uni and not having a full time job means spare cash is a bit sparse at the moment though :(
However i will keep my eye out for 1 and try all the local breakers, if not i may try and sell her if theres any interest.

It's getting really close to the point of revisiting the subject of refurbishing rams...

It will have to be faced sooner or later. Never throw any away in case they can be rebuilt one day....

Never looked at it like that Colin....

Ummm...

I shall think about that one and place it on my (rather lengthy) future project list...

As I've possibly said before - surely the people who do hydraulic repairs can tackle them?

My first port of call here, would be the fellow who does PSA (and other) power steering ram overhauls.

I called a Citroen dealer today and he quoted £403 incl vat for a rear ram part no. 509004.

I think I need a new one because my leak off pipe is dripping LHM but most importantly the top ball joint has a load of play in it. About 1/8" movement between the cup and ball, it looks like the lining of the ball joint (maybe ptfe ?) has worn away.
Cheers, Kev
