Belt, avoiding the aircon compressor.

Post by Pleiades »

As it states.......

On our old hack, Xantia 1.9TD the aircon compressor has a naff bearing, the aircon has not worked for years and the noise is getting a bit much now.

This is just a car that I have lying around and am happy to lend to anyone who needs it, (when theirs is in for service), so we do not spend too much time on it, just the basics to keep it clean, legal, safe and reliable.

Now I want to bypass the aircon and have seen a post on here somewhere that someone had done this with success.

What I realy need to save me time of flaffing around measuring, is the number of the belt used.

Does anyone know?? I have used the search function, but those that know me will understand when I say, computor says no!!!

Regards.
Martin.

Great.

Thanks for the info, the link suggests that a 6PK 1153 is a bit of a squealer, so I would guess that the 6PK 1150 being 3mm shorter would sort this.

I will let you know how it goes.
