citroen xsara rear axle failure,wheels hitting inner guard

Hi could anyone tell me what cars have the same torsion bar rear axle setup,,in complete form as the 1998 phase 1 citroen xsara 1.9 turbo diesel xud engine.Always been a curiousity as i may have to source one,many thanks :D

Peugeot 306... defeantly..

Probably about it... Not sure about the ZX though, an older version..? Prehaps..

Just out of interest, presumably the Pug 306 Estate will therefore be the same as the Xsara Estate?

Any more discoveries welcome,suppose its good to know for everyone,as rear axles can be a pain over the years of ownership of french cars

have you tried PCR of Lancing as they are cit/pug dismantlers, they do mail order,

also try ebay, i got mine from there, off a 2002 xsara with 50k miles for £80.

i presume a 1998 model wont have ABS or rear disk brakes (unless its a high spec one) in that case any xsara axle with drum brakes should be ok, also as said before the 306 ones are the same. not sure about estate axles though.

also have you tried the 306.net forum there are a few 306 axles on sale there from time to time. also worth a look on cxoc.net, although from experience this is not a large site.
currently no citroens :-(
