A sad end

Hello All,

After all my hard work!

A couple of days ago, I collided with a recovery lorry not far from home. It was snowing and in hind sight, I wish I hadn't gone out.

The lorry lost control in the snow and swerved to avoid stopped vehicles straight into on coming traffic (me). I was very lucky...I was hardly moving but the lorry hit me at a fair rate (both air bags deployed)

Any how, the 406 is smashed beyond repair but I might salvage bits. I'm on the look out for an estate turbo diesel if anyone knows of any.

So sorry to hear this Lawrence :cry: The3 main thing is you're OK, the car can be replaced but you cannot be. I guess you were on your own and didn't have the family on board...

It's been a bit damgerous out there just recently. Did it yhappen on the little road up to your place or out on the main road?

May I sugget as Xantia Estate as your next car? Like a 406 in a lot of ways but the suspension is better :wink:

It was on the main road to Dunstable. Thankfully no family in the car.

Hi Lawrence, very sorry to hear your news but as Jim says at least you're ok and the car can (hopefully) be replaced.

Maybe you should have a look at an XM 2.1td estate, I can highly recommend them, I'm sure Peter.N will be along shortly to back me up :wink:

Sorry to hear about that, at least your safe and no one was injured. Did the 406 stand up well?

A diesel Xm estate is a great car indeed, and certainly handy if you need more space than your 406.

Thanks all,

The 406 was pretty good actually. The radiator was pushed back of course, the bonnet buckled upwards and I felt pretty safe.

Definitely feeling the bruises and whip lash now though!

I will check out the 2.1 :)
