xsara over heating
The wife's Xsara 1.4 2002 has overheated on the way to work this morning (engine warning light has come on). I know there is plenty of water in the rad/expansion bottle as I topped it up with anti-freeze earlier this week. So what are the most likely problems and watch is the check list to try to eliminate them. Is it most likely to be a faulty thermostat and if so any pointers as to where it is located?

Cheers for that, it appears that you were right, the radiator seems to have unfrozen now and have put some more anti-freeze in, so hopefully that will be the end of the problem.xantia_v6 wrote:Depending on the concentration of anti-freeze in the radiator, it could be that the water in the radiator froze, stopping circulation and allowing the engine to overheat.
Run the engine at idle for a while and see if the radiator gets hot.
