Hi,
Looking at ebay last night and saw an Xantia advertised. The car is advertised as an HDi 110, but I thought the HDi 110's had another air pipe running alongside the airbox. This pic of engine looks the same as an HDi90. Or am I wrong again http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v676/ ... F-wjhU.jpg

As Paul has already said the 110 is the one to go for, the extra 20bhp makes all the difference. It is also worth noting that the 110 gearbox is more leisurely and smoother which makes for better cruising.

Defeantly better gearing.. 90's use PUSH Clutch, and calbe operation too, 110bhp are Hydraulic clutches...and cable gear change. I think 90 gearbox's are still linkages, but I dont know for certain..

Yup they are, Cassy has a 90BHP Hdi gearbox.

Thats roughly the same as the XUD Box... no gain there then...

Yes, I'm sure Cassy was doing 75 in 5th before. Maybe I'm wrong.
She is only able to do 110 now on veg whereas before that was the top derv speed, with 115 on veg.
Come to think of it, I'm sure Juliet does 3000rpm at 80. Not found her top speed yet... but its definitely more than Cassy's

I stuck a Tuning Box on a Xantia HDi 110bhp, put it on Top Setting, NO IDEA what the gain was, floored the car and watched the needle wizz round to an idicated 135mph... and she was still going a bit
The Box was one that went inbtween the Injectors and Injector plugs on the original loom...
Now thats impressive!

Yup they are, Cassy has a 90BHP Hdi gearbox.
I did the same thing a few years ago with my 1.9td Xantia..... wish I had tweaked the pump now for some extra power.
I don't know if it just me or not but in the three cars that have had the 90BHP (BE3) gearbox, I've noticed more whine than the 110BHP box?
