Citroen C3 2003 1.4i

Post by jasoneric »

Hi all

Please excuse my stupidity but I have just purchased the above car and am unsure of one of the features of this vehicle.

There is a speedometer button which looks like a "voice" on it. Can anyone confirm to me what this is for?

Thanks.

It may be the speed nagger.
If you go over a pre-set speed it will beep and flash a message on the display.
You set the speed by driving at your max speed, and using the button on the end of the wiper stalk to cycle through the options till you get to the correct one (cant remember what its called), then press and hold it in untill it makes a nice gong kinda noise.

OR you may have to press an hold it from the option before the correct one if you understand what I'm rabbiting on about?

I like to think of it as old fashioned cruise control.
It can be useful if you are driving and don't want to keep watching the speedo. But I do remember it taking a while before I could get the C3 to stay at exactly 60 with that digital display.

The modern version will actually prevent you going over your set speed unless you floor it. Thats even closer to cruise control

Its not a bad feature i dont think, set it to a speed, once you hear it beeping you know your going faster then you intended to be. Though its slightly incriminating as you have to reach the speed in order to set it, fine for legal limits obviously.

Ive used it on the C5 before but dont have it set on mine, i have the SX set to 80 so it beeps and flashes 'speed too high' once you exceed it. Its my sisters car now and it drives her mad, but im not turing it off
