This is not that uncommon on RHD 206's
The fix is very easy though normally. Although there is a switch on some models fitted to just above the brake pedal, that's not the one
Look up above the passenger footwell area, you`ll see the brake linkage and the "real" brake light switch here.
What normally happens is it gets accidentally kicked by passengers and comes out (or too far out) of its holder.
Simply have an assistant depress the brake pedal and you push the switch back in.
Release the brake pedal and press it about half a dozen times to re-seat the switch properly.
