Urgent- crashed the xantia!

Unread post by Porkchop »

hi lads i hit the car tonight on the icey roads. damaged the rear driver's quarter panel and back door. also bent the rear suspension. mine's a 2001 hdi 90bhp, would parts from a 98 2.1 d turbo be the same? i know they both have discs on the back...

Sorry to hear about your mishap.
Yes the rear end parts of the cars are all interchangeable, especially between 2 Mk2s.

Agreed!

Infact even a rear frame from a 1997 Series 1 would do the job as long as it has anti sink and ABS...

Make sure the 2.1 frame has ABS fitted as the rear sensors are impossible to remove intact.. but rear frames are quite a doddle to remove, obviously the exhaust has to come off, then theres 4 pipes that run front to rear.

One goes accross the frame to the drivers side, 2nd and third goto the Height controll valve and anti sink valve, and the 4th goes to the passenger side, and theres a plastic low pressure return pipe thats just push fitted on the passenger side too.. unplug the ABS sensors, wich you can do once the rear sub frame is lowered.. make sure all pipes are clear and remove from from under the car.

You'll need to remove exhaust back box and the cross bar from the car.. and possibly the wheel well for access to the pipes..
