Xantia 24V coolant

Post by fastred »

Thanks for the replies to my earlier posting.
I will follow the advice re changing the coolant on my W-reg 24V, but does anybody have information on the correct procedure for this? I have had a good look round under the bonnet by have not been able to find any bleed screws on the cooling system at all. I do have a plastic bottle for extending the header tank which I used on my previou car's 16V engine, but there must be some way of letting out the air on refilling.

There are three bled screws. Sorry, four!
Start with the lowest - to find these simply lift up the air filter body - nothing to unscrew the hose are designed to flex. I tie mine up to bracket on the bonnet. There are two socket head cap screws on the castings connected to the radiator. These are bleed screws. The third is the plastic screw on the right of the radiator - quite obvious. The fourth, is a small plastic cap - like a tyre valve cap on the left hand hose going to the heater, just be fore the pipe goes through the bulkhead. The trouble is you can't really see it.
All the best!
