Xantia Hdi Unusual Boost

Hi guys new here, i bought a 90bhp xantia this week, the car doesn't seem to boost at all in first gear, then in all the remaining gears there's very flat power until about 2750 rpm, then she boosts fully. Any ideas? i'm thinking MAF...
Also there's a factory fitted cd player which won't read cd's, any cures? thanks!

Hi Porkchop

I cd lense cleaner for starters with the cd changer and on the boost side of things check for loose or leaking boost pipes to start with, has there been any more or less turbo noise of late?

Pipes seem fine, the car was parked up for 2 months before i bought it, i had a 306 hdi before, same engine. can't hear any turbo until around 2750 rpm, turbo seems to sound normal then. however i have noticed that sometimes in 4th or 5th gear the turbo comes in as it should, below 2000rpm... thanks...

I understood the 90Hdi doesn't have a turbocharger......................

It has a turbo, its the intercooler that its missing compared to the 2.0 HDI 110.
