picasso rusty aerial

Hi
Please can someone help me? I have told my car aerial is rusty and needs replacing, the shop told me to do this the whole cable that goes from the roof to the radio will need replacing, does this sound right? I was hoping to get an aerial from the breakers...

When the aerial base leaks the water can travel down the cable & even into the back of the radio. The garage will probably be right about the cable replacement.
