URGENT- 1.9td ZX Thermostat Housing Gasket ???

Hi,

Its been along since here last.

My son who now has the ZX has a leak from the Thermostat Housing, can't remember whether its a Gasket or 'O' ring to seal the housing to the head.

She's on 205k now still same motor with new heater plugs etc and just past MOT for another 12mths. Can't be bad!!!

The Thermostat seals on the Thermostat O ring that comes with the thermo... I always smear a bit of Sealant on the flat faces..

My girls, Xantia TD, is on 219k

i just looked it up on service citroen and if its the XUD lump it shows a gasket not an O ring,

you can fasion one out of a cornflake box

the OE part No. is 1339.62

By O Ring, my mis conception, I meant it seals against the rubber seal that stis round the edge of the thermostat.. without the thermostat it cant make the seal ON THE INNER EDGE, so you'd have to use a sealent on the outer edge..

Tried it myself when my thermostat had stuck shut and I didn't have another..
