no heater,wipers and electrics

Hi guys more problems,last night on route to the missus, the car had a light covering of snow so like an idiot i turned the wiper on :oops: only to find out it was frozen solid :x ..now the battery warning light is lit up on the dash and i have no electrics in the car,as well as no heater which i will get sorted soon enough hopefully,but what little boo boo have i done now..please tell me i dont have to get any motors changed and that its a simple quick fix :)

The motor will have stalled and probably popped a fuse.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(
My past Citroens :-

It seems that you have a dead battery. Did you measure it with a multimeter?
Also check if the cable connected to minus terminal is not corroded. Check grounding points.

already did :wink: and no problems with the battery ..il have to run through the fuses and hopefully thats all it is..

Did you get the battery warning light with the engine running? i.e. it is not charging :-k

In mine fuse F24 20A (fusebox inside the car) controls both front and rear wiper motors and rain sensor.
If all the electrics in the car is gone than it can not be only that fuse.
It might be a maxi fuse (engine room) that causes the problem.

yes battery warning light was on with the engine running..im going to run out now and brave the conditions and see if the fuse has indeed blown :twisted:

According to my knowledge of basic car electrics that means your alternator is not charging. Alternator brushes needs replacement or control unit (diode bridge) or ...?

The important factor is this started because of trying to use a frozen screen wiper , logic would suggest the problem is related to that.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(
