Hydractive system fuse....?

Post by vince »

Quickie boys.....

After a browse on the finnish site Xantia World, It lists number 8 fuse in the compartment near the battery as the Hydractive fuse?

My question is this...Until i get round to getting down to Jim's and having my rear electrovalve thingummyjig checked, im wondering if i remove that fuse, will it stop the car flipping the rear from soft to hard mode every time i start the car?

:)

Yep, pull F8 and it'll put you into full-time hard mode Vince.

It's a bit, err, hard for everyday driving though. If you plan to do this, pop some non-hydractive spheres on. Not a perfect solution but it takes a bit of hardness out of it.

GSF supply spheres at a good price

 ...yes ive heard they do :P

I wont bother then Jim, I was kind of hoping it would revert to full time soft mode :) I couldnt handle going back to fulltime hard mode even though i did ride around like that for a year and a bit without realising it was stuck in hard mode

It's not a good idea anyway Vince, driving in full-time soft mode would be like driving a jelly on top of a blancmange

Dangerous in fact. She'd roll like a barrel for one thing. You'd be amazed how often and seamlesly the system briefly switches to hard. On virtually every corner, under accelleration and braking.

Come down as soon as I've got the V6 shell gone and I'll sort you

Damm VSX suspension

You JUST CANNOT beat the SX suspension! EXACTLY How it should be SOFT!

you buy a citroen to have a SOFT smooth ride, if you want a hard ride, buy a VW or Audi! Citroens were concived for a Magic carpet, when on earth Citroen them selfs wanted to harden it up..

I have to admit in the same post/sentance it was a good idea to have the two settings, but surely there was a more reliable way of dooing it!

sorry, Rant over.. but I hear so much about the smooth VSX ride, but MORE about Electro valves going home..

Im up for Standard BX Style SX Suspension...

Are so you haven't been in a VSX then Paul,
you don't know what you're missing mate.

In my old 405 my son would fall asleep but wakeup when I went over the speed bump close to home, but in my Xantia VSX I have to wake him up when I pull up outside the house

Paul just loves that Hydractive. Brilliant design by Citroen let down by the usual less than brilliant parts they put on their cars. It`s logistiscs I suppose. What is available to get made and by whom in Citreons part of the world :?

Is it down to the fact now that if you get 10 yrs from a part then you aint doing bad? Fact of life ..make it complex and sooner or later........

Far too firm for my liking, you must enjoy feeling the bumps!

Hydractive is a bit like that little girl..

"When she was good, she was very, very good but when she was bad...."

You think a normal hydraulic Citroen is good but a Hydractive one working perfectly is absolute heaven.

Is your V6 in fine fettle in the Hydractive department Paul?
