Brake pipe replacement on a C5

Post by purplehippy »

My 2002 C5 has recently failed the MOT on some metal brake pipes which have corroded. Can anyone tell me if i can replace the pipes with copper brake pipe??...I know that using copper brake pipe is pretty standard in the motor trade, but i was wondering whether it would be ok on a C5 as it uses LHM fluid and not brake fluid???? Also i was wondering about the pressure of the system and whether copper was suitable????

Any help would be gratefully received.........

Firstly C5's use LDS not LHM & they are not mixable.
Secondly the braking system is completely independant from the suspension & steering on a C5 & uses standard DOT 4 brake fluid.
Copper pipe should be fine.
