Xantia central locking

Post by scoles »

As above, after getting the car running again following a timing belt failure, the central locking has went haywire.

When i press the lock button it locks then instantly opens again with a loud chirp from the alarm.

however although the car remains open the alarm is set.

i have noticed the the lick button on each door is in the open position apart from the front passenger door it appears to remain in the locked position although its open.

Any help would be much appreciated as i could do with the car being locked.

Cheers

More than likely down to a poor electric connection where the connector attaches to the N/S/F door lock, I've comes across this problem a few times and found its always the N/S/F door for some reason.

First post here :)

but almost certainly the connection to one of the door locks, as the c/l control box wants to see a "confirmation" from all the locks, otherwise it'll just unlock (same as 206's)

(mine did the same and yea was the n/s/f)

I'm referring to where the door loom attaches to the lock itself, to gain access you need to remover the door card and to do that you'll need a size 20 + 10 Torx driver for the various self tappers securing it.
