Graunchy "Arrrgh" noise

Unread post by davewithington »

Fitted the new accumulator sphere on Saturday, and did about 100 miles yesterday, motorway and A roads.

The ride is superb. my wife is most impressed, and the car stays up longer than it did. However... The bit the sphere is screwed onto is the regulator I believe? At intervals of about 4/5 seconds there's a noise I can best describe as a sort of hissy graunchy "arrrgh". This suggests to me that the regulator needs changing. Would you concur?

Might just need bleeding a bit more .... or.....horror of horrors -- you did properly do up the bleed nipple after you'd finished? (I can't really believe that).

The noise itself is apparently not uncommon, your tick rate might be related to this thread

Its usualy due to internal leakage in the hydraulic system, could be the electrovalves, brake valve or suspension cylinder leakage. Mine tick faster than they should but they drive OK so I don't worry.
