Blower Motor

Post by cox377 »

Hello All,

Me a again, this one has got me stumped.

The blower motor, if a 12V life is put into the large red cable going into the blower motor, this should cause the motor to spin? Assuming that the earth is connected and tested as being good?

Yes, the motor should spin; and if it doesn’t, it’s usually due to worn brushes.
Give it a few good wallops around the brush areas to ‘reseat’ them.

This is a really odd one, I was under the dashboard with my head in the footwell the other week and pulled on the two wires going into the blower motor around the back and it came to live, still no control over the speed, the harder I pulled the faster it went. I was able to recreate it for a while but not in the last week days. I've checked all the connectors and re-crimped the block going into the back of the motor. I've tested the earth and the live is definatly live

have i read wrong, the blower motor can be repaired?

my blower is not so strong now, and vibrates. I think it would perform better if its not vibrate too loud on higher speed.

The vibrate is similar to the old aircond

Based on the accuracy of your description, could it be that a foreing object is obstructing the fan?

Otherwise it is likely to be a failed bearing, which is likely to be unrepairable because the pastic casing is probably damaged.
