Xantia Suspension Problem

I bought a '99 2.0 Hdi a few weeks ago, I have to say not the comfiest Xantia I've driven and then today after performing a few Citrobics, as suggested on another recent post to maybe expell any air in the system, the rear suspension decided it would settle in either the High or Low position and not the Mid/driving one. HELP. The 4 corner spheres were renewed about 6 months ago, but apparently not the other 2. Could this be the same problem as recent post re/height correcter sticking?

It sounds as if the little white plastic link has popped off the height corrector, it simply needs to be pushed back on, with the usual reminders over safety, use axle stands and never get under a hydraulic Citroën unless its properly supported. Should the link come off again then the mechanical levers of the height corrector require lubricating.

A quick search for height corrector plastic link will reveal a multitude of posts on this subject.

Re sphere's is your Xantia an Exclusive?

Thanks for reply, I've just been under the car and seen that the clip is on, but the pipe coming of the other end has snapped off where it goes into a clamp over the axle, does this make sense, is this the cause
ps its not an Exclusive

That would be the cause! I'd expect the part to be cheap enough.

Yeah, not that cheap, the main Citroen dealer in Leeds quoted me £26 plus Vat. and won't have one til tuesday. Does anyone know how difficult this job is, ie as with many Citroen jobs, you don;t have to remove half the car to get that clamp off the anti roll bar , do you?

The reason I asked was to establish whether your had is equipped with Hydractive suspension.

I reckon the old chap who had the car before me never used the height adjustments and the whatever it is inside the height corrector siezed up then along comes me playing with the citrobics and....snap. Does this sound feasible?
