v6 wheels

Post by lexi »

I aint got a spare for car. Is this wheel specific to V6 or ANY other xantias have it?. Must admit it is brill to be able to centre the wheel on when fitting.......sooo much easier. I`ve heard about the balance issues although these wheels are newish aftermarket.

The balance thing may be why they were changed in the first place.

The wheels are all interchangeable, but must match the shape of the wheel bolts. The original Mk1 V6 wheels have bolts with square shoulders, and there are matching spacers pressed into the holes on the spare wheel.

The Mk2 V6 has bolts with tapered shoulders and (I think) uses a standard Xantia spare wheel (my MK2 has a foreign spare wheel that does not really fit at all).

It may be that I can take an alloy from a standard SX diesel as long as I take the bolts that go with it. My aftermarket wheel will have bolts to suit these wheels. They are round tapered at shoulder.

If you mean the 7 spoke alloys, they're the same on an Exclusive - not that that is much help as they're not exactly common either. They're about £100 from Citroen however - I've had three over the years - lots of country lane driving!!!

You need a good 3/4-7/8" of thread coming out the wheel's mating face when the correct stud is used.

V6's had 6½J rims from factory; Activas and some diesels also had this width. Many Xantias were 6J.

Yeah, Exclusives and V6's have the same running gear as the Activa, just different spokes.
