Xantia headlight height settings

Post by bonnyman750 »

Hi All,
Does anyone know what the correct headlight height settings are for the Xantia.

A long time ago when the BOL's were worth more than the paper they were printed on, they used to have a headlight setting diagram which first instructed you to park the vehicle in question so far from a wall, and had a series of measurements for both height and lateral position for the home mechanic to accurately adjust their headlights.

Obviously, because of the Xantia suspension system, this would be (usually) set at normal ride height

I know that my beige Xantia needs an adjustment of the offside light, but at the moment I can either guess or get it checked at a Dealer/garage

Any figures or info would, as always, be greatly appreciated...

Cheers...

I found it quite satisfactory to wait until dark and then adjust by looking on the ground at the light pattern. Just need a long allen key and a 50 metre or so length of ground ahead.

I, too, would be interested in the RHD setup specs. Not convinced mine are right - they illuminate an awful lot of the verge!

Drive right up to a wall, lights on, mark a cross on the wall at the centre of each beam. Drive back from the wall about 5m, you should still be able to see each beam separately. Adjust so that the beam is still centred on the cross. Shouldn't be too far off - might find it's a touch high like this, so if folk are flashing you coming the other way, turn them down a bit!
