C4 Depollution system warning

Post by Harbottle »

I'm new to Citroen ownership. and this forum. The Depollution system warning lamp came on this afternoon while I was driving. It now stays on all the time. It says in the handbook "Urgently consult a Citroen dealer".
What is the Depollution system and what potential problems could be afflicting it?

Its basically neans the engine management system has a fault somewhere, it could be anything, You need to take it to someone with some decent diagnostic gear to at least read the fault codes to point you in the right direction otherwise your just clutching at straws.
Is the car running ok ? what engine is in it out of curiosity ?

The engine runs fine. It's a 1360 cc petrol. Thanks.

While I agree with Wheeler. With the C5 it can sometimes cure those faults by disconnecting the battery for 30 mins, & then reconnecting - this can sometimes reset the computer. I don't suppose the C4 is very much different, may be worth trying before you spend any money.
