Excellent. Did you see the one on TV some years ago when they were comparing a BX td with a Jap petrol car, cant remember what it was but the top speed and fuel consumption were similar but when the floored them both at 40 mph the BX left the other one for dead - perhaps there is a video of it?

 I have to admit all the serious road tests are kind of pointless and bore me to death, if im going to buy a car i will go and drive it myself not watch some bloke who could be an Audi driver and thus totaly insane drive it.

Tiff Nedell  He's not changed much has he  Still as boring and as irritating as ever.

An interesting video. Never seen a 1.9TD smoke like that on start-up though unless it was worn

The Beemer was an unfair comparison but it was good to see the Xantia came out well against the Mundaneo :D But he never once mentioned the suspension  He must have noticed there was a world of difference in ride, handling and comfort.

Dean, I agree. That was as dry as dust really and if you want to get good road test information, the magazines are still the best.

I prefer TG as it is now, nothing but light entertainment to cheer up Sunday evenings. If you don't take the trio of presenters at all seriously it's essential viewing.

Jim..

Start an XUD WITHOUT useing glow plugs and she'll start like that!

That annoyed me actually, because my ole girl DESPITE 217k, and an unknown history from 0 miles to 186k miles, she STILL starts in an instant on all 4 cylinders, and with VIRTUALLY no, if not any smoke from the back..

Ive a set of lower milage injectors to try in her, she gets a bit smokey at about 70 -80 mph. NOT black smoke but grey..

Yes Paul that was the annoying thing, it looked all serious but in actual fact it was pure makebelieve, you could hear they were starting all three with no preheat at all, the only thing that road test tought me is that tiff likes to take the p**s out of dervs, i dont like them personaly but that doesnt mean i would rubbish them, Psa XUD's are the pups nuts even in todays HDI world!
