Its what happens to ORIGINAL Equiptment Rear Lights from Factory..

Its the outer plastic that has Crazed!! Replacement Valeo or copies DO NOT do it however, the other problem though, is that they are shaped differently, so the "Citroen" Light holders DO NOT fit the replacment lamps, so always make sure you get the inners with them..

A TIP: WHICH WORKS: Coat the rear lamps with Oil, any oil, cooking or veggie, and they clear up for a short time..

I have to disagree with you there. I've swapped out crazed lenses on three different Xantias and used combinations of s1 and s2 ebay and breakers yard replacements. On all occasions I just clicked the existing bulb holder into the "new" lens - no problems with the shape or fit.

Somebody else on here told me s2 lenses couldn't be used on s1 cars. Rubbish - they're fine!

I KNOW S2 lamps FIT S1 cars! However, Id like to know how you swap the outer lenses then.. I only said it because I havent worked out how to swap them..

For some reason though, S2 lamps dont suit S1 cars - but of course they fit.

Undo the butterfly retaining nut inside the car.

That swaps the WHOLE lamp over, then the circuit boards from the "Aftermarket" units DONT fir the Citroen Lamps... The impression I got was he said he can swap the OUTER lens off the inner body..

S2 lamps in an S1, I guess im being old school, as S1's always had the darker colour lamps, and S2's had the lighter lamps it's just stuck.. Its like putting those horrid Lexus lights on to a S1.. Prehaps its because most S2's were silver, and most S1's were darker colours..

Ohh damm, ignore me, Im moydering on about nothing..

I think it depends on the colour. I swopped my lights over to dark S1 for my S2 Activa which really suits it. The S2 lights then went on the S1, which actually make it look cleaner and more modern, but maybe the colour coded number plate plinth helps.
