C5 2.0 Hdi Immobilisor Active.

Post by jmd »

While driving (my son's) C5 yesterday, everything suddenly went from normal to engine cutting out and display showing "immobilisor active". I removed the two fuel pipes (one is s return pipe) at the fuel filter, and cranked the engine - no fuel coming. Checked the pump (under the seat) and some fuel was present outside the pump & on the pump cover. Called the breakdoen service and the guy found one of the pipes leading from the fuel pump loose. Tightened that, & can hear the pump (buzzing)pressurising, when the ignition is turned on, but it will not start. Took the car to a Citroen dealer, but at 4,30 on a Friday evening nobody was prepared to investigate the problem. Any thoughts on this problem appreciated.

Garage re-set everything. According to them the primary problem was no fuel, yet the readout on the dash showed 140 miles left in the tank until fuel would be required, furthermore in addition to this the yellow indicator (fuel low light) did not illuminate.
