c8 power steering warning

c8 power steering warning

Hi all. wife drives c8 2.0sxhdi 07 plate.50k :twisted:

Twice now over a two week period,a warning displayed on dash for the power steering.The car firmed up(no assisted steering) On restarting no evidence of fault. :evil:
I have cheacked all obvious:- leaks,levels,belts etc with no result.both times the weather has been wet(am thinking water somewhere on a circuit). ](*,)
Have recently had a software download from citroen :?

Hi -

Sounds like a pump issue to me.
Could be a loose fit drivebelt slipping when wet.
Since the warning comes along with stiff steering, the warning itself is for real.

Must still have warranty on a 07 plate ?

Agree that it must be pump related but I feel sure that the pump will be electric with attendant ECU which then begs the question which bit of the car had the software update if steering then that would be my prime suspect, flashing memory chips does not always go as planned :-(
