97 Xantia 1.9 td lx with a/c (Daily, 172K, FOR SALE)
98 Xantia Hdi Lx with a/c (105k)
97 Renault Extra (c1j turbo 230+hp, 12.88@106)
91 Renault 5 Gt turbo (68k minter)
Aye will tighten them up when theres weight on the wheels.
Could poss be two different make of bushes?
100% sure its the bushes. The droplinks were replaced recently, its a heavy knock not the tap like they make.
The bushes are heavily cracked & the track control arm will move easily when car is jacked up, the p-bush is like a floppy thing. Havent done bad for 161k though.

ok you will have enormous fun fitting them especialy the P bush, it can sometimes work out more cost efective to fit a new artm with the bush's already fitted,
Got plenty of time so will give the bushes a go. Also just got meself a nice 20 ton press which should be up to the job. I done the rear bushes on my old ax derv with a hammer & vice, similar kind of setup?
I was going to buy a full arm, but the price difference is massive, ill be grudged paying the extra. I prefer genuine tca's, pattern parts always seem to be poor imo.
Cant be any harder than the gt turbo bushes, i had to grind/chop the old track control arm off as the bolts rust solid in the metal inserts!

ok
you will need to cut the inner sleave of the P bush off as it is an interferance fit, and make sur you get the new one back on in its corect orientation/plane
I had a curly one with my changeover. The guys somehow managed to tweak the height control link - you could see the chafe marks - when pushing the ARB away to free everything.
It's best if you don't have this misadventure, as resetting the ride height took so many iterative tries - even when getting close, it was forever 3/16" the wrong way!
Bushes done, no big deal really took about 4 hrs. The p-bush/mushroom bush on the passenger side had fell to bits, arm just fell down when the balljoint was cracked off.
Drives mint now, floates along instead of crash-bang. I have noticed the front end sits higher now though, possibly have disturbed the h/c mechanism when the arb was loose?
Has anybody got a rough floor-cill measurement so i can check?

Cheers for the pic addo, my tyre to arch gap doesnt look too different to yours in the pic. Mine was a bit lower on the passenger side before i replaced the p-bush could have been down to the lack of tension on the bush before?
Ill get the tape measure on it tomorrow 8)
