Rear axle mounting rubbers

Unread post by leigh »

Hi Guys,
Just had some new rear shocks fitted to my 1999 1.9 D Xsara hatchback.
Got a slight groaning noise when reversing out of my drive or when pulling away slowly, brakes are ok ie not binding.
Mechanic who fitted the dampers said that the axle mounting rubbers were worn and needed renewing -probable cause of noise unless any of you know better?
Question is do any of you know an aftermarket alternative for these mounting bushes as Citroen want stupid money for them -like 3 figure
Any help appreciated
Cheers
Leigh

Are the rear arms leaning inwards allowing the top of the rear wheels to touch the inner arch??

Ive seen these conventional torsion bar rear arms wear as badly as the Xantia ones doo...

Mechanic defintely says its mountings but any ideas who supplies them at sensible money ?? Citroen want 265 sovs for all four
