Fuel filters - Plastic or metal?

Post by XantiaMan »

Just got new Bosch fuel filter for my Activa. I've not changed it in my ownership, and speaking to Jim, it was something he didnt do either, so its at a minimum of 3 years old!

I'm sure my current one is metal, this new one from GSF is plastic. Does anyone know when this change might of taken place? And also, what is the service interval ?

I changed mine quite recently and got a metal one from GSF, not seen a placcy one yet. I think the recommended service life is 24k miles.

Ahh well, I've been changing mine every 24k. Mind you, I change the oil and filter every 6k which is twice as often as recommended.

But if it's in the Haynes, it must be true.
