Presumably you've checked the oil level. Have you changed it and the filter, just in case? It could just be very old oil and a clogged filter or it could still be an electrical fault affecting the sensor/light wiring.
Ultimately, the only way to prove 100% conclusively is to test the oil pressure with an old-fashioned mechanical pressure gauge in place of the sensor. Any good garage should be able to do this.
Is the engine sounding OK? Is there any knocks, rumbles or other abnormal noises, particularly when the light is on?
The light coming on is a worry as if it is genuinely low oil pressure, the engine is on borrowed time and WILL eventually fail, very possibly destructively with a rod through the block. Best to get the pressure properly checked now rather than have the thing expire and strand you.

As jim says, has it had an oil and filter change recently?
I sometimes find with HDis (i know yours is a 1.6 petrol) that when the oil is getting ready for changing the oil level indicator can play up a little. Usually fresh oil cures this.
If you have not had the filter and oil changed id be doing that first.
Was the correct sensor replaced?
Its either an electrical fault, old oil or the engine really is low on oil pressure, in which case you had better find out sooner rather than later ...
Good luck with it, Chris.
