oil leak

I have a massive oil from my xantia 1.8 16v 1997
Have cleaned up mess but can't find where it is coming from.Check after a short journey, I removed the dip stick and oil spurted out the hole, any ideas?
Please help[:(]

Check the oil FILLER neck & associated fume vent hoses, usually connected to the air filter can.
They may be clogged by "mayonnaise" or simply bent.

Crankcase ventilation (or not in your case). As Anders says, Mayo is the usual cause, especially if you have had some cold weather, the mayo can freeze and cause all sorts of trouble (so much so that PSA devised an electric heating element for Scandinavian vehicles to avoid it happening).
