Xantia Caliper Bolts

Unread post by blueboy2001 »

Dismembered the brakes on the Xantia today to discover the bolts holding the caliper to the hubare torx. I've got Torx screwdriver bits but these are much bigger.
Can you get sockets to fit these? The only torx bits i've got are for screwdrivers. What size are they?
TIA

blueboy,
As wheeler says, they're T55, very usefull to have a socket with this type, as they are a common size used on the Xantia ( Anti-Roll Bars, Calipers, Cylinder Head etc.. ).

Churchill Tools sell them for about a fiver. They come with either tree eighth or half inch square drives. Essential for Citroens. There is bound to be one nearby.

Bought a full set of bits with a 1/2" drive from the local motor factors for £10, I'm sure they'll come in again.
Job finished now, had to drill out one of the disc mounting screws as some fool had rounded it off. I've also sorted the handbrake, replaced the broken mirror, fixed a rattle inside the passenger door got the central locking working again, and given it an oil change.

Now you're a pro [8D]
BTW : never tighten up the disc locator screws, allways CU-paste them. Their only purpose is to LOCATE - not hold - disc in place, untill you refit wheel and tighten the wheelbolts.
