Cooling fan.

Post by Patt »

Hi, the engine cooling fan on my '99 Saxo 1.4 (auto) does not appear to come on. I've had the car a year now and I,ve never heard it running at all. The switch is new, the fan operates when the switch is shorted and the thermostat is new too.
No, I,ve not left it idling for a long time just to see. But does this sound normal or not? It does not overheat or lose water.
Thanks.

Sounds normal...
Cooling fans don't usually come on unless it gets hotter than it wants to be. Your best option really is to leave it to idle and see if it comes on...

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure it's ok just that I notice other cars' fans run a lot more. Any one out there with a Saxo 1.4?
