IR Fob

Post by KP »

Does anyone know if the microswitch bits for the IR fob are available from anywhere as my main one is begining to pack up and it doesn't look as if to be the solder joints for once and its not loose :(

I am also looking to get another fob as the rubber on mine is well worn and im not going to pay £100+ for a new fob from fleabay...

service citroen has them at well over £150 currently :(

the cheap bits are the blades and the kit to fit the blade as well, it costs an extra £5 for the key to come precut :)

depending on type its either
£81
£66
and there are two of the £81 type as it depends on the freq your car was set at...

If the rubber wears out though its £7 and part 9926FE to replace it which is a bit pricey for some rubber...

Hi,

Are you sure its the switch and not the soldering of the LED that is causing the problem?

I used to have more problems with the LED soldering on my 370K Xant.

It can also be that the IC chip needs resoldering (but you usually can't see the microscopic cracks in the solder). Best done with a hot air soldering iron, other techniques are available, but require some practice.

Definately the switch as it works intermittantly, the IR LED works just fine when you use the dead locking microswitch every single time and reckon its from the over use compared to the other switch.

Peter if the one on ebay falls through how much are you after for your spare one??

I'm sure that RS and Farnell still only sell to the trade and you have to have a business account with them.

RS do however have Trade Counters (there is one a couple of miles from me) and if you go in when it is quiet and sweet talk the man, they will sometimes be persuaded to sell direct.
