LHM and O rings

Unread post by Duracell »

I've just stripped my hydractive electrovalve and need a new O ring as the original is split. My main dealer can't help and although I've worked out what size I need, I have no idea about the compatability of the various o ring materials with LHM so trying to source one from a different source would be guesswork. Does anybody know what material would work?

Thanks

The LHM compatible material is known as Vitron.

Give Pleiades a ring, they may be able to help.

Pretty sure that equates to Viton in English which is I believe a synthetic rubber type material widely used in it's liquid form for sealing aircraft fuel tanks. I am pretty sure I have seen Viton quoted as an O ring material in a catalog........ somewhere :-(.

Thanks both of you - Viton O rings appear to be commonly available so hopefully it will not be a problem

Viton will do it but as LHM is a mineral oil based fluid , nitrile O rings would be fine too.

I used one from a blister pack from the local car spares. As a test I dropped another in to a jar of LHM. 4 years later it's still good as new.
